Venax is seeking a skilled manager for P&L responsibilities in their road and intermodal operations. The role involves developing strategic customer relationships and leading a team.

This position starts fully remote until a final office location is established in Belgium. Candidates with 3-5+ years in logistics management and fluency in Dutch and English are encouraged to apply.

About the role

You are ultimately responsible for P&L in our road and intermodal operations. You develop strategic customer relationships (KAM), build and develop the team and scale FTL and preferably intermodal operations. You report directly to regional management and steer quality, growth and profitability.

Explanation of the transition phase: This position starts fully remote until the manager has identified and opened a final office location in Belgium. We will then switch to fixed base mode (office + client visits) in the chosen location. Example cities (indicative, no fixed base): Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Kortrijk, Leuven, Hasselt, Mechelen, Aalst, Genk, Roeselare.

Responsibilities

• P&L and branch management: Budget, commission margin, forecasting, profitability; direct reporting to region/authority.
• Business development: Acquisition and expansion of key client relationships; active sales support for strategic transactions.
• Team and development: Recruitment, coaching (Junior → Medior/Senior), resource planning; clear KPI arrangements.
• Operations: TMS processes, delivery reliability, quality control; liaison with the back office (invoicing/collection).
• Reporting and strategy: Periodic management reviews; implementation of the ward roadmap.

Candidate profile

• 3-5+ years management experience in freight forwarding/logistics (Road/FTL; Intermodal welcome).
• Demonstrated responsibility for P&L, management by KPIs, contract negotiations, KAM.
• Fluent Dutch; English min. B2 (French would be an advantage).
• Working with clear performance indicators.
• Orders: Junior 50+, Medior 80+, Senior 120+.

• Net Road Turnover: Junior €34,483-€45,977; Medior €57,471-€68,966; Senior €80,460-€91,954.
• Intermodal net turnover: Junior €22,989-€29,886; Medior €34,483-€45,977; Senior €50,575-€57,471.

Delivery reliability (on‑time), fixed margin/order, complaint rate, customer satisfaction (NPS).
