Job summary

C-Target is seeking a Transport Manager to lead day-to-day transport planning, drivers, and fleet across sites in Sint-Niklaas, Tessenderlo and Zolder. The role focuses on safe, efficient GDP-compliant operations and ongoing improvement in services for pharmaceutical stakeholders.

You will manage ~10 drivers, coordinate with the planning team, and drive strategic development with the parent company, while maintaining high-quality, reliable logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in logistics or related field.
• Several years of experience in an operational transport role.
• Certificate of professional competence in road haulage (or willingness to obtain).
• Hands-on, problem-solving approach in a dynamic logistics environment.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of GDP guidelines is an asset.
• People management and development of the team.
• Strong analytical and solution-oriented mindset; translate insights into results.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is an asset.

Job description

For our client, an independent provider of pharmaceutical logistics and transport services, we are looking for a Transport Manager.

The company supports the pharmaceutical industry with high-quality logistics services and organises the transport of medicines to wholesalers, hospitals and pharmacies. Quality, reliability and patient care are central to its activities.

As Transport Manager, you combine the day-to-day management of transport planning, drivers and the vehicle fleet with the further development of transport operations. Working closely with your team and the parent company, you contribute to efficient, safe and high-quality services across the sites in Sint-Niklaas, Tessenderlo and Zolder.

What will you do?

• Strategy and growth: Working closely with the parent company, you help shape the strategic vision and further develop transport operations.
• Operational management: You have overall responsibility for daily transport operations across the three sites. Together with your team, you monitor KPIs, ensure timely deliveries and work in accordance with the pharmaceutical sector’s Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards.
• Team leadership: You manage approximately ten drivers and work closely with the planning team. You maintain a visible presence on the floor and help create a supportive working environment where safety and efficiency are key priorities.
• Fleet and maintenance: You oversee the operational management of the truck fleet, ensuring that vehicles remain in good technical condition and proactively scheduling maintenance and inspections.
• Continuous improvement: Together with your team, you analyse logistics processes and propose improvements in efficiency, quality and sustainability.
• Compliance: You ensure compliance with road transport legislation and the rules applicable under Belgian Joint Committee 140.03.

What are we looking for?

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in logistics or a related field.
• Several years of experience in an operational transport role. Leadership experience is an asset.
• A certificate of professional competence in road haulage, or a willingness to obtain it.
• A hands-on approach and the ability to solve problems effectively in a dynamic logistics environment.
• The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders both within and outside the company.
• Knowledge of GDP guidelines is a strong asset.
• People management skills, with the ability to motivate your team and support employees’ development.
• Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach, translating insights into tangible results.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
