Gaming1 is seeking a Head of Developer Platform to lead our Platform Engineering organization and own the internal platform that enables engineers to build, ship and run software. You will guide 15–20 engineers across three teams through Engineering Managers, shaping the platform as an internal product with strong focus on adoption, reliability and velocity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineers through managers, ideally managing at least two Engineering Managers and teams totalling around 15 engineers or more.
• Deep and current experience evolving an internal developer platform, developer tooling, CI/CD or self-service engineering capabilities as a product.
• A strong software engineering and architecture background, with the ability to set credible direction for platform and reliability topics.
• A track record of building, shaping and growing teams, including hiring and developing Engineering Managers.
• A strong understanding of reliability as a core engineering principle, not as an afterthought.
• The ability to work at the intersection of strategy and execution, turning vision into clear priorities, operating models and team-level direction.
• A product mindset applied to internal platforms, with attention to adoption, value, outcomes and developer experience.
• The ability to introduce new practices and tools thoughtfully, including AI, with a focus on real engineering effectiveness rather than hype.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to make decision-making transparent across teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead, structure and grow three platform-oriented teams: Developer Experience, Channel and Reliability Operations.
• Manage and develop Engineering Managers, ensuring that each team has the right level of clarity, maturity, ownership and accountability.
• Shape the Internal Developer Platform as a genuine internal product, with a strong focus on value creation, developer adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Drive the evolution of developer tooling, golden paths, templates, CI/CD, self-service capabilities and end-to-end developer workflows.
• Oversee the shared frontend platform, including the app shell, design system and SDKs used by product teams to deliver their customer experiences.
• Strengthen the reliability and observability practice, including SRE principles, incident response and platform dependability.
• Work closely with the Head owning the Infrastructure Composition Layer to define clear technical boundaries, interfaces and collaboration principles between platform layers.
• Partner with the Platform Product Manager to align platform initiatives with internal customer needs and the platform value map.
• Collaborate with Principal Architects to ensure technical coherence and alignment across engineering layers.
• Translate the broader platform engineering vision into a pragmatic strategy and execution roadmap for your scope.
• Build open communication habits across teams, ensuring that context, decisions and reasoning are shared clearly and consistently.
• Help introduce new practices and tools, including AI where relevant, in a way that creates tangible value and supports engineering engagement.

With 30 years of history, today Gaming1 is one of the international leaders in both land-based and online games of chance (casino games, sports betting and poker). Its evolution at the heart of innovation is accompanied by a diversification and specialization of positions, with the creation of new cutting-edge jobs.

As part of its sustained growth, Gaming1 is looking for a Head of Developer Platform to join its Platform Engineering organisation.

This is a new leadership role, reporting to the VP of Platform Engineering, with the mission to own and further develop the platform that Gaming1 engineers use every day to build, ship and run software.

The Head of Developer Platform will lead around 15 to 20 engineers across three teams, through approximately three Engineering Managers. This is not a role about inheriting a finished organisation, nor about starting from scratch. Existing teams and existing platform adoption are already in place. The challenge is to bring them together into one coherent platform layer, raise maturity, strengthen team capabilities and continue building what is still missing.

As such, this position offers a unique mix of strategic ownership, technical proximity and people leadership. The person joining will have genuine latitude to shape how the developer platform operates as an internal product, in close collaboration with the VP of Platform Engineering, the Platform Product Manager, Principal Architects and the other Heads of Engineering

YOUR ROLE

As Head of Developer Platform, you will be responsible for defining, leading and continuously improving the platform layer that enables Gaming1 engineers to build and run software in a fast, safe and self-service way.
