Imec in Leuven, Belgium, is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join the LAB Hardware (LABHW) team. You will ensure advanced tools run smoothly, support R&D programs, and act as a link between hardware capabilities and process requirements.

You’ll collaborate with researchers, students, process and hardware engineers, and industry assignees; participate in all phases of equipment lifecycle; and work on tools like etching, lithography, deposition, and characterization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics) or 5+ years in electronics/semiconductor.
• Ability to work unsupervised in a lab with strong quality standards.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational skills and proactive mindset.
• Fluent in English for our international environment.

Responsabilités

• Develop next-generation semiconductor tool solutions with R&D teams.
• Manage the equipment lifecycle: purchasing, hook-up, maintenance, user support, QC, and decommissioning.
• Document tool information and inventory for consumables and spare parts.
• Support process team in developing specific process steps and tool installations.
• Work on tools including dry/wet etching, lithography, deposition, characterization.
