VIB.AI and KU Leuven invite applications for a Principal Investigator to lead a group at VIB and to hold a professorship at KU Leuven’s CS and EE departments. The candidate will develop AI-driven biology research and collaborate across centers.

The position includes full salary with renewable core funding and strong facilities. English or Dutch teaching is possible, with support for PhD students and postdocs.

Formación

• PhD or equivalent experience in ML or related quantitative field.
• Candidates at junior or more senior levels with strong ML research background will be considered.
• Excellent ML and programming experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire competitive funding and collaborate across disciplines.
• Fluency in English is essential; Dutch training is available if needed.

Responsabilidades

• Build and lead an independent research group within VIB.AI and KU Leuven.
• Teach and supervise MSc theses and PhD students in English or Dutch.
• Provide scientific, societal, and institutional services to advance the center.
