Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to support its GDPR compliance strategy and act as a trusted advisor to product and engineering teams across privacy matters.

The role requires 5–10 years in IT/privacy law, a Master in Law, and bar admission. You will manage DPIAs, DSARs, and vendor DPAs, while monitoring evolving privacy regulations and sustaining data protection across the company.

Qualifications

• Master degree in law; bar admission is a plus and experience in fast-growing environments.
• 5–10 years of experience in a law firm or tech company, in IT and GDPR/privacy.
• Strong knowledge of privacy regulations and EDPB guidance.
• Understanding of AI technologies and their applications.
• Able to identify compliance issues and implement practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support GDPR compliance and partner with product and engineering teams.
• Advise product and other teams on privacy topics for new features.
• Manage compliance documentation (records of processing, DPIAs, internal policies).
• Respond to data subject access requests; implement GDPR processes.
• Train employees on privacy topics.
• Negotiate DPAs with providers and customers; monitor regulatory guidance.
