Blackfield Associates is seeking a Global Physical Asset Manager to optimise utilities and MEP assets across the organisation, ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency throughout their lifecycle.

You will work with asset owners and stakeholders to understand asset condition, assess risks and support OPEX and CAPEX planning to maintain performance and cost competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing.
• Strong experience in asset management and lifecycle management.
• Experience linking asset decisions to cost competitiveness, operational resilience and business objectives.
• Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage a portfolio of Utilities and MEP assets across HVAC, power, boilers and distribution.
• Support development and deployment of asset management strategies and processes.
• Define and implement global asset management methodologies and policies.
• Act as technical risk manager for equipment-related risks and mitigation plans.
• Support asset lifecycle management activities and technical decision-making.
• Review and support annual budget planning aligned with asset owner requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and new ways of working across stakeholders.
• Provide technical support across asset lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and HSE requirements.
• Support CAPEX and OPEX evaluations for asset renewal and remediation.
• Develop methodologies to improve asset management practices.
• Support development of department capabilities and external service partnerships.
• Support implementation of Quality and HSE policies including GxP, training, deviations, incidents and accidents.
• Assist deployment of the Asset Management programme.

We are looking for a Global Physical Asset Manager to support the management and optimisation of utilities and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) assets across the organisation.

This role sits within the Global Physical Asset Management function, supporting research, development, manufacturing and support activities by ensuring physical assets are safe, reliable and efficient throughout their lifecycle.

The Global Physical Asset Manager acts as the key reference point for the organisation’s physical asset portfolio. Working closely with asset owners and stakeholders, the role is responsible for understanding asset condition, assessing risks, identifying optimisation or replacement opportunities, and supporting the required OPEX and CAPEX planning to maintain asset performance.

The role will also support asset lifecycle management, monitor technical risks and mitigation plans, and contribute to improving the overall financial performance of assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Utilities and MEP assets, including automation, IT, HVAC, gas, electricity and fuel networks.
• Support the development and deployment of asset management strategies and processes across manufacturing, development, research and facilities locations.
• Define and implement global asset management methodologies and policies.
• Act as the technical risk manager for equipment-related risks, ensuring mitigation plans are identified and followed.
• Support asset lifecycle management activities and technical decision-making.
• Review and support annual budget planning, ensuring priorities align with asset owner requirements.
• Support continuous improvement and new ways of working across stakeholders.
• Provide technical support across the asset lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and HSE requirements.
• Support capital and expense budget evaluations for asset renewal and remediation.
• Develop methodologies to improve asset management practices.
• Support the development of department capabilities and external service partnerships.
• Support the implementation of Quality and HSE policies, including GxP requirements, training, deviations, incidents and accidents.
• Support the deployment of the Asset Management programme.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within the pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing industry.
• Strong experience in asset management, lifecycle management and technical risk management across physical asset portfolios.
• Good understanding of Utilities and MEP assets, including:
• HVAC
• Power and electrical distribution
• Boilers and steam distribution
• Hot and cold production and distribution
• Experience developing business cases and linking technical asset decisions to cost competitiveness, operational resilience and business objectives.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
