Job summary

TVH is seeking a Global Packaging Optimization Lead to drive the Packaging Center of Excellence and govern global packaging standards across a matrix organization. You will coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, transport and customers to ensure consistent branding, packaging quality, and environmental performance.

You will lead data-driven packaging optimization, cost modeling, and sustainability initiatives while translating strategic branding into concrete requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent through extensive professional experience.
• Fluent knowledge of English; Dutch is a plus.
• Strong analytical capabilities to translate data into strategic decisions.
• Deep understanding of cost modeling and TCO; translate packaging specs into financial cases.
• Track record in cross-functional stakeholder management and change management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Global Packaging CoE.
• Act as central decision-maker for global packaging standards and material guidelines.
• Lead communication and oversee implementation of packaging standards globally.
• Drive improvements to reduce material consumption and environmental impact.

As Global Packaging Optimization Lead, you will lead our Packaging Center of Excellence, driving the packaging strategy by connecting with our international network, suppliers, warehouses, transport and customer requirements. You balance customer and brand experience, sustainability, data-driven optimization, legislation and governance. Navigating a matrix organization, you build strong relationships with local packaging teams and groups of SMEs to align and define packaging standards for TVH.

Roles and responsibilities

• Develop and lead the Global Packaging CoE.
• Act as the central decision-maker for global packaging standards, quality benchmarks and material guidelines.
• Lead the communication and oversee the implementation of all defined packaging standards and guidelines throughout the entire global organization.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce material consumption and environmental impact, while ensuring optimal product protection.
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization & procurement partnership.

Global Strategic Governance

• Develop and lead the Global Packaging CoE.
• Act as the central decision-maker for global packaging standards, quality benchmarks and material guidelines.
• Lead the communication and oversee the implementation of all defined packaging standards and guidelines throughout the entire global organization.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce material consumption and environmental impact, while ensuring optimal product protection.
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization & procurement partnership.

Brand Identity

• Translate strategic brand principles into concrete packaging requirements for different brands.
• Safeguard the unified product look, ensuring identical sellable items worldwide have exactly the same packaging, regardless of where the product is sourced, packaged or stored.

Regulatory Compliance

• Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on rapidly evolving international regulations regarding packaging and packaging waste.
• Monitor and translate international regulations regarding packaging, waste management nand sustainability into internal policy.
• Advise the global organization on the implementation of the sustainability roadmap, including the selection of eco-friendly materials and recyclability benchmarks.

Performance

• Define and monitor global KPIs for packaging costs and material usage to empower data-driven decisions.
• Prepare business cases to correctly account for the impact of decisions on global and regional costs.
• Translate marketing strategies regarding (modified) branded product packaging into an overall total cost picture and prepare business cases to correctly account for the impact of decisions on global and regional costs.

How to succeed / Your profile

• You hold a Master's degree or equivalent through extensive professional experience.
• Proven experience in a global or matrixed packaging, logistics or supply chain environment. Knowledge of supplier integration and industrial packaging automation is a strong asset.
• Fluent knowledge of English, Dutch is a plus.
• Strong analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable, strategic decisions.
• Deep understanding of cost modeling and TCO. You must be able to translate technical packaging specifications into compelling financial business cases.
• A track record in cross-functional stakeholder management and change management.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
