E3G is seeking a Policy Advisor to support its Climate Diplomacy and Geopolitics Programme (CDG). The role is based in London, Brussels or Berlin with a preference for London, and involves building networks across civil society, government and the private sector to advance climate diplomacy in multilateral venues.

You will work on international climate policy, engage with stakeholders, and help coordinate cross-E3G activities in a dynamic geopolitical landscape, including travel requirements.

Qualifications

• A high-quality degree and ideally a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area (e.g. climate change, international relations, economics, politics, development, international trade)
• Experience and strong interest in multilateral institutions and UK foreign policy.
• Have at least three years of relevant professional experience (international climate policy, foreign policy, trade, geopolitics, energy or a related field).
• Have a track record of problem solving, research and strategy development. Intellectual curiosity and creativity and proficiency working with complex information
• Demonstrate a track-record of building new stakeholder relationships and partnerships. Be confident in influencing decision-makers from government, business, finance and civil society.
• Supportive, collaborative and open colleague and team player
• Well organised and focused on delivering desired outputs, results and outcomes
• Have very strong oral and written English communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Support and build effective strategies to enable impactful climate diplomacy in multilateral fora, in particular UNFCCC/COP31, and including on international climate leadership.
• Prepare clear, accessible research and analysis to inform policy knowledge, briefings, reports and presentations regarding international climate politics, or on the opportunities for engagement in multilateral venues and in bilateral partnerships on climate.
• Engagement across the climate and foreign policy communities, working closely with relevant government departments and civil society organisations to support impactful climate diplomacy.
• Monitor and provide astute assessments for impact of key policy debates and developments in international foreign policy, climate policy and beyond.
• Coordination of relevant work across E3G to support strategic development.
• Engage with and help to convene key stakeholders in government, civil society and the private sector.
• Organise and participate in stakeholder discussions and workshops; managing relationships with stakeholders.
• Wider duties and topics within and across the CDG team may be included as demands require including for team leadership members.
• Contribute to the wider development of E3G as an organisation.
• International travel will be required.
