Jobtailor in Brussels invites an experienced EU policy professional to lead a policy area end to end and to shape strategy with the team. You will drive direct engagement with EU institutions and coordinate allied advocates to achieve shared objectives.

You will build capacity, support fundraising, and represent Future Matters at Brussels events, leveraging five+ years of policy experience and fluent English.

Qualifications

• At least five years of work experience in EU policy (advocacy, policymaking, consulting, or a combination).
• Substantive command of both the formal and informal EU policymaking processes.
• Substantive policy experience in at least one of: EU climate policy, industrial or energy policy, climate or sustainable finance, trade policy with a climate angle, or international cooperation with a climate angle.
• Strong, self‑directed project management.
• A track record of scoping, planning, delivering, and adjusting workstreams independently.
• A strategic orientation, grounded in structured thinking.
• Flexibility and policy agility.
• Strategic communications across audiences.
• A capacity‑building appetite and a collaborative, low‑ego style.
• Full professional fluency in English.
• Candidates must already have the right to work in Belgium.
