Job summary

Jobtailor in Belgium seeks an experienced policy and EU affairs professional to lead consultancy efforts on climate, energy and green transition topics. You will design policy analyses, manage complex projects, and help win new contracts with EU institutions.

You will coordinate teams across policy areas, deliver actionable reports, and communicate findings to donors, policymakers and stakeholders in a fast-paced, multicultural setting. English fluency required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in environmental science, economics, political science, or closely related field.
• Experience advisory and analytical services including policy and programme design, evaluation and impact assessment.
• Project management for EU institutions or technical assistance projects.
• Experience with or within the European Commission is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of EU environmental, sustainability and climate policies.
• Proficiency with both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Demonstrated success in leading proposal development and securing funding or contracts.
• Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage tasks under tight deadlines and maintain stakeholder relations; willing to travel in Europe and worldwide.
• Contribute to project leadership and delivery.
• Contribute to business acquisition and portfolio growth.
• Help forge and promote the strategy around Green Transition in EU and national markets.
• Expand and manage project teams and coordination.
• Design methodological approaches to answer complex policy questions and trends.
• Generate new business leads, including bid writing for EU tenders.
• Lead projects of varying scales and complexities within project teams.
• Perform analytical and empirical work and draft reports for donors and policymakers.
