Amazon is seeking an Advanced Materials Engineer in the EU to bridge EU and NA materials science efforts. You will lead materials development for packaging, coordinate with EU suppliers, and ensure seamless integration with automation hardware.

The role spans pulp/paper, coatings, adhesives, and converting processes with a strong emphasis on sustainability and regulatory compliance. You will design experiments, establish specifications, and guide cross-functional teams across regions to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (materials science/engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical or pulp/paper engineering).
• Experience leading interdisciplinary technical projects and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.
• Experience with materials selection, testing, and scaling to manufacturing.

Responsabilités

• Lead R&D of packaging materials including papers, adhesives, tapes, coatings, and alternatives.
• Design experiments to optimize formulations and processing parameters using the materials science triangle.
• Drive EU supplier collaboration and harmonize global materials strategies.
• Ensure materials are compatible with EU packaging automation hardware and lines.
• Characterize materials and develop testing plans per ASTM/TAPPI/ISO/ISTA standards.
