Amazon's Global Materials Science (GMS) organization seeks an Advanced Materials Engineer based in the EU to bridge EU and NA materials science teams, driving materials development for the EU supplier base while harmonizing global strategies. You will work with EU automation hardware teams to co-develop materials and equipment for seamless integration.

In this hands-on role, you will conduct lab research, characterize materials, establish specifications, and collaborate with EU-based suppliers

Qualifications

• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
• Experience with the project management of technical projects.
• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Experience with materials selection, testing, and scaling to manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in materials science engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, pulp/paper engineering or a related technical discipline.

Responsabilités

• Lead laboratory research and development of packaging materials including paper substrates, adhesives, tapes, coatings, and alternative fiber technologies.
• Design and execute experiments to optimize material formulations and processing parameters.
• Develop next-generation materials solutions focused on EU supplier capabilities and regional availability.
• Advance materials innovations from concept to deployment across EU packaging automation hardware.
• Evaluate tape, adhesive, and coating systems for automated packaging lines.
