Michael Page is helping a client in Belgium seeking a GL Accountant. The role covers daily AP/AR/GL entries, closings, and financial reporting under BEGAAP and IFRS. You will liaise with group reporting, handle VAT and statutory filings, and support audits and process improvements.

Fluent Dutch or French is required, with English/German a plus, and SAP experience is a must. Offering a flexible hybrid setup with three days at home, the position values accuracy, collaboration, and proactive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 3 years of relevant accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience.
• Fluent Dutch or French; German and English a plus.
• Strong BEGAAP, GEGAAP and IFRS knowledge.
• Comfortable working in SAP with excellent Excel skills.

Responsabilités

Job Description

As a GL Accountant you will be performing the following tasks:

• Daily accounting entries in AP, AR and GL
• Ensuring accuracy of all data
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Monthly and annual closings for multiple BE entities
• Preparation and analysis of cash flow
• Preparation of the financial statements
• Ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS
• Financial reporting to group
• VAT-declaration and statutory reporting NBB / Intrastat
• Assisting with external audits and internal controls
• Supporting process improvements and automation initiatives
• Acting as a point of contact within the finance team

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for candidates that match the following criteria:

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• You bring at least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting.
• Fluent Dutch or French and good knowledge of German and English is a plus
• You possess a strong understanding of BEGAAP, GEGAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• You are comfortable working in SAP
• You have excellent Excel skills
• You combine strong analytical capabilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• You are able to work independently, while also being an effective and collaborative team player.
