Michael Page International (Belgium) is seeking a GL Accountant to handle daily accounting in AP, AR and GL, ensure data accuracy, and manage month-end closings for multiple BE entities. The role emphasizes BEGAAP, GEGAAP and IFRS compliance, financial reporting to group, VAT declarations and support for external audits.

Job Description

As a GL Accountant you will be performing the following tasks:

• Daily accounting entries in AP, AR and GL
• Ensuring accuracy of all data
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Monthly and annual closings for multiple BE entities
• Preparation and analysis of cash flow
• Preparation of the financial statements
• Ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS
• Financial reporting to group
• VAT-declaration and statutory reporting NBB / Intrastat
• Assisting with external audits and internal controls
• Supporting process improvements and automation initiatives
• Acting as a point of contact within the finance team

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for candidates that match the following criteria:

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• You bring at least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting.
• Fluent Dutch or French and good knowledge of German and English is a plus
• You possess a strong understanding of BEGAAP, GEGAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• You are comfortable working in SAP
• You have excellent Excel skills
• You combine strong analytical capabilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• You are able to work independently, while also being an effective and collaborative team player.
