Job summary

Confidential Defence Organisation in Brussels seeks a GIS developer to build and extend web mapping applications, on-site with the project manager. You will develop and configure web GIS apps using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and modern frameworks, integrating classified and unclassified spatial data.

You will also convert data with Python, set up map services, and tune queries for fast rendering while documenting endpoints and architecture for staff knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of web development with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js or Angular.
• Hands-on work with a major web mapping SDK - layers, popups, custom widgets and client-side spatial operations
• Python for geoprocessing and automation (ArcPy, GeoPandas, Shapely, Rasterio, GDAL/OGR)
• Backend services or pipelines that expose geospatial functionality
• Git, Agile, and a bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, IT or similar
• Advanced English; some basic French is helpful
