Job summary

Spektrum Labs, Inc. is seeking a seasoned GIS/Web Developer to design and deploy geospatial web applications for NATO-related projects. You will collaborate with the GIS Project Manager to implement ArcGIS Maps SDK interfaces and REST data services.

The role requires 5+ years in web development with JS frameworks and strong Python geoprocessing skills. Brussels-based with potential limited telework, and a collaborative Agile team environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of web development with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue.js, Angular).
• Experience with at least one major web mapping library or SDK (ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript) including layers, popups and widgets.
• Proficiency in Python for geoprocessing, ETL and spatial analysis (ArcPy, GeoPandas, Shapely, Rasterio, GDAL/OGR).
• Ability to build and maintain backend services or pipelines exposing geospatial functionality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy web-based GIS applications under the GIS Project Manager.
• Update and extend web mapping functionalities with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript.
• Integrate spatial data via REST APIs and manage geospatial data models and layers.
• Ensure security, usability and accessibility of applications.
• Provide knowledge transfer to staff and conduct code/documentation updates.
• Support special projects and optimize backend data processing pipelines.
