Datameister is an AI research and deployment lab in Ghent, Belgium, seeking a Generalist AI Engineer to strengthen our general intelligence stack. The role emphasizes fine-tuning, extending model architectures, and hands-on work with agentic workflows, LLMs, and data engineering.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team building scalable, production-grade AI systems and APIs, with strong growth potential, competitive compensation, stock options, and opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field.
• Currently authorized to work in Belgium (no visa sponsorship).
• Initial experience or strong academic background in AI, notably in LLMs.
• Experience with current AI/LLM frameworks and tools.
• Proficient programming skills in Python.
• (Optional) experience with cloud platforms and deployment strategies.
• Engineer-at-heart, self-motivated and driven by excellence.
