Job summary

SQLI, a European leader in customer experience and digital transformation, seeks a General Accountant based in Belgium to own a complete accounting scope and partner with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The role offers significant autonomy within an international environment where accuracy, analysis, and service quality are essential. Strong VAT, ERP, and Excel skills are required, with IFRS knowledge considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in general accounting is preferred.
• Experience with monthly and annual closings is expected.
• Strong VAT knowledge and day-to-day accounting requirements are essential.
• Experience preparing annual accounts and supporting audit processes is a plus.
• Intercompany accounting knowledge is advantageous.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Exact, Dynamics) and advanced Excel is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full general accounting cycle for multiple entities through closing.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure data reliability.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure tax compliance.
• Assist in annual accounts and financial statements preparation.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with AP, AR, Treasury, and Controlling teams.
• Support internal and external audit processes and serve as a main point of contact for auditors.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance Finance efficiency.
• Contribute to management and Group financial reporting.
