Job summary

Sia Partners is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join its AI practice in Belgium. You will work on GenAI applications, building RAG pipelines, agents, and chat interfaces that deliver measurable ROI.

You’ll collaborate with senior engineers to deploy solutions across client sites, design scalable prototypes, and validate ideas with users. The role emphasizes learning fast, mastering frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex, and aligning with client needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, AI, or a related technical field.
• 0–2 years of experience; recent grads encouraged to apply.
• Built with LLMs through prompting, RAG, basic agent workflows, and simple evaluation sets or tests.
• Clean, readable Python code and willingness to learn client stack languages.
• Experience calling APIs and connecting systems.
• Ability to prioritise tasks with guidance and understand client value.
• Clear explanations of technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
• Growth mindset with willingness to take on responsibility.
• English and French; Dutch desirable; German a plus.
• Experience with applied AI frameworks or SDKs (LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK).
• Experience deploying projects to cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with MLOps/LLMOps and versioning of prompts; basic monitoring.
• Understanding vector databases and embeddings.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on client sites with a senior Forward Deployed Engineer to learn workflows and AI opportunities.
• Help scope and build LLM-based solutions: RAG pipelines, tool-using agents, workflow automation, chat interfaces.
• Connect solutions to existing systems (APIs, databases, business tools) using templates.
• Apply GDPR and EU AI Act considerations to your work with guidance from seniors.
• Support user adoption: documentations, training sessions, and feedback collection.
• Measure solution performance and propose improvements to senior colleagues.
• Present progress in written and verbal updates to technical and business audiences.
