Ariad Group is seeking a Functional Analyst to bridge business and IT within a banking/insurance environment in Belgium. You translate regulatory and business needs into functional solutions and collaborate with agile teams to deliver value.

In this role you will gather requirements, draft user stories, define acceptance criteria, and ensure alignment across stakeholders. Hybrid, full-time assignments in Antwerp or Brussels with a community of consultants and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst.
• Experience in banking, insurance, or financial services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsabilités

As a Functional Analyst within a banking/insurance environment, you will act as the bridge between business and IT, translating business needs and regulatory requirements into clear functional solutions.

Working within a multidisciplinary and Agile team, you will contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of reliable, secure, and customer-focused applications and processes.

Your main activities:

• Act as the link between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring a shared understanding of requirements and solutions.
• Gather, analyse, challenge, and document business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
• Design functional solutions while considering business needs, technical constraints, data, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Testers, Architects, and Business stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Provide functional guidance and clarification during development and testing.
• Contribute to functional testing, defect analysis, and solution validation.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, applications, and ways of working.

• You have 3+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar role.
• You have experience in a banking, insurance, or broader financial services environment.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• You communicate clearly and are comfortable working with both business and technical stakeholders.
• You are proactive, pragmatic, solution-oriented, and able to work autonomously.
• You are comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• You have an excellent command of Dutch & English, French is an asset.

What will help you to succeed:

• Experience with business process analysis and functional requirements.
• Good understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and SQL.
• Experience with functional and integration testing.
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools.
• Understanding of regulatory, compliance, security, and data requirements within financial services.
