Job summary

Alan is hiring for a Backend/AI Engineer to build the AI agents answering health insurance questions and perform automated resolutions at scale. You will work with a product team and care experts to push the capabilities of automated care in a regulated environment.

You will design and ship production-grade AI agents, improve prompts, architectures, and tool-use, while collaborating across France, Belgium and Spain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building scalable software systems.
• Strong backend experience; Python a plus.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, tool calling and evaluation.
• Ability to measure AI system performance and improve it.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship LLM-powered agents that understand a member's request and act on their behalf.
• Enable interoperation of Alan's AI agents across platforms and other services.
• Extend automated resolution to new channels, starting with AI phone support.
• Own evaluation datasets, automated evals and quality monitoring.
• Improve resolution rate and user satisfaction in production.
