CHILI publish NV in Aalst, Belgium, seeks a software engineer to design and ship agentic AI features at scale. You’ll work at the intersection of AI systems, backend engineering, and product, turning ideas into production capabilities with tools that run client-side and server-side.

You’ll collaborate with product and design, build robust evaluation pipelines, and own production services from API endpoints to data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including building and operating agentic or tool-calling systems.
• Ability to design tests, benchmarks and automated graders for non-deterministic systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript or Python for backend and TypeScript for frontend.
• Full-stack API design with UX judgement for intuitive user experiences.
• Practical command of the LLM ecosystem: prompting, embeddings, retrieval and routing.
• Experience operating production services: containerised deployment, readiness, logging and tracing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and decision documentation.

Responsabilités

• Design and ship agents with multi-step tool-calling capabilities, owning the end-to-end flow.
• Treat prompts, tool catalogs and skills as engineered product surfaces.
• Build evaluation pipelines and benchmarks to prove improvements in agent performance.
• Develop retrieval and data plumbing: vector search, embeddings and ingestion pipelines.
• Own production services: streaming APIs, latency budgets, logging and tracing.
• Turn fuzzy intent into shipped behavior, collaborating with Product and Design.
• Build with agents, not just for them, and verify outcomes against the running system.
• Stay current with weekly landscape and guide investment decisions.
