Job summary

Ayesa Digital in Brussels, Belgium, is seeking an experienced Full-stack Software Engineer to join an international team supporting grant management and reusable IT components used by European institutions.

Based in Brussels with on-site presence one day per week, you will develop features across the stack—from UI and APIs to server logic and databases—collaborating with project managers and cross-functional colleagues to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or 5 years of higher IT education and at least 5 years of IT experience.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks: Angular, React, Vue, Bootstrap, with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite).
• Proficiency in Java, Node or PHP stacks; Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST API development.
• Relational and non-relational databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB; schema design and queries.
• Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) and SVN familiarity.
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure) and cloud deployment/management experience.
• Designing and securing RESTful APIs; OpenAPI/Swagger docs.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWT.
• Ability to ramp up quickly, work in a team and multilingual meetings.
• Results-oriented mindset.
• English or French at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Full-stack Software Engineer to join an international environment supporting grant management and reusable IT components (document management, access rights and authorisation, electronic forms and templates) used by European institutions and stakeholders.

Based in Brussels, with on-site presence one day per week and ad hoc on-site presence on short notice, you will develop and maintain features across the entire stack, from user interfaces and APIs to server-side business logic and databases. Working within a multicultural environment, you will collaborate with project and service managers and with front-end and back-end colleagues to ensure cohesive, secure and well-performing solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop front-end website architecture and design user interactions on web pages
• Develop back-end applications and implement core business logic

• Take part in the design and creation of scalable software, keeping code clean, organised and functional

• Bridge front-end and back-end development, ensuring cohesive integration of all system components

What we're looking for

• University degree corresponding to EQF Level 7 (master's level or 5 years of higher education), in any field of study, and a minimum of 5 years of IT professional experience
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks and libraries (Angular, React, Vue, Bootstrap) and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite)
• Proficiency in Java, Node or PHP back-end stacks, with Spring Boot, Hibernate and REST API development
• Relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases, including schema design and query optimisation
• Git workflows (GitFlow, trunk-based) and an understanding of legacy systems using SVN
• Cloud services (AWS, Azure) and experience deploying and managing applications in the cloud
• Designing, building and securing RESTful APIs, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWT
• Ability to quickly ramp up on new projects, work in a team and autonomously, and take part in multilingual meetings
• Results-oriented mindset
• English or French language proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep)
• Knowledge of an XML to MS Word transformation library or framework
• Experience integrating front-end and back-end builds into CI/CD pipelines
• Previous experience in European institutions
