Job summary

DEME Group is seeking a Project Manager for Fleet Interventions to lead end-to-end vessel intervention projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and upholding safety and quality standards. The role requires managing multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with the vessel manager, procurement, and technical leads.

Qualifications

• Basic technical knowledge of ship repair, preferably dredging/offshore vessels.
• Experience in turnaround repair/conversion projects is advantageous.
• Strong skills in finance control.
• Overall project management experience including scheduling and planning.
• People management skills to shape a coherent project team.
• PMP Project Management Professional training is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Leadership: manage project scope, vessel performance, and daily progress meetings.
• Stakeholder management: coordinate with Technical Works Manager, Supervisors, Procurement, and Vessel Manager.
• Empowering Team Leadership: coordinate project team, coach, and ensure wellbeing.
• Comprehensive Finance Control: oversee budget, change requests, and cost optimization, final invoicing responsibility.
• Contractor Management: ensure compliance with contracts, manage variations with pricing and approvals.
• Motivate team with contractor-management schedule to hit FI project targets within budget and scope.
• Efficient Claim Management: resolve claims with input from Supervisors/Finance and keep Vessel Manager informed.
• Reporting: provide weekly progress updates to Project SteerCo; monitor ITP weekly.
• Preparation Phase: based at HQ for 9–12 months; Execution Phase: on site 2–3 months with 2:1 rotation.
