Job summary

OVRSEA is expanding its Belgium office and seeks a Customs Declarant to establish our Belgian Customs activities in Antwerp. You will lead declarations, interact with Belgian authorities, and shape the initial customs operations in Belgium as a pivotal first team member.

You will collaborate with Operations and Sales, supporting clients on EU customs procedures, and continuously improve processes to ensure regulatory compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Native Dutch speaker with fluency in English; French is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience with a freight forwarder in a customs position.
• Demonstrated autonomy in previous roles, able to lead projects or contribute within a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customs documentation including invoices, certificates, and licenses.
• Submit import, export, and transit declarations through Belgian customs IT systems.
• Classify goods per Harmonized System and EU Nomenclature.
• Manage customs files within port community systems.
• Calculate duties, VAT and other taxes.
