Job summary

OVRSEA in Antwerp, Belgium, seeks the first Customs Declarant to spearhead our entry into the Belgian market. You will build the customs function from the ground up, work closely with Operations and Sales, and partner with Belgian authorities to ensure compliant and smooth import/export processes.

Qualifications

• Native Dutch speaker required for Belgium operations.
• Fluent English communication skills essential.
• At least 3 years of customs experience with a freight forwarder.
• Demonstrated autonomy and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customs documentation (invoices, certificates, licenses).
• Submit import, export, and transit declarations in Belgian IT systems.
• Classify goods under HS/EU CN classifications.
• Manage customs files in port community systems.
• Calculate duties, VAT and other taxes.
