BDO Belgium is seeking a Compliance Services Consultant to help clients transform regulatory processes with a pragmatic, future-ready approach. You will team with experienced colleagues, contribute to AML/KYC and other regulatory assignments, and gradually broaden your focus to data-driven monitoring, workflow automation and AI-enabled solutions.

The role combines hands-on operational compliance work with opportunities to deepen digital and process transformation skills in a growing advisory

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field as listed

What will you be doing?

No two assignments are the same. During your first years, your focus will mainly be on hands‑on, operational compliance assignments. This allows you to build a strong understanding of how compliance works in practice across Anti‑Money Laundering and Counter‑Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT), Know Your Customer (KYC), MiFID and client protection. Together with experienced colleagues, you will typically:

• Perform KYC and AML reviews of client files, transactions and alerts, identify potential risks, document your findings carefully and support remediation or backlog projects.
• Apply client procedures and regulatory requirements consistently, with guidance from more experienced colleagues.
• Help monitor quality, identify recurring issues and suggest practical improvements based on your day‑to‑day experience.
• Gain initial exposure to digital compliance by working with client systems, workflow tools and data used in day‑to‑day compliance activities.
• Prepare clear updates and work closely with client teams and your BDO colleagues.

These operational assignments give you the practical foundation needed to grow. As your confidence and expertise develop, you will gradually contribute to broader analyses, regulatory research and process improvements. You will also have opportunities to deepen your digital compliance experience by helping translate operational needs into data‑driven monitoring, workflow automation and AI‑supported solutions.

What do you bring to the table?

• You are completing or recently completed a Master’s degree in law, criminology, economics, business, commercial engineering, risk management, data or a related field.
• You are curious about financial services, regulation and the way technology is changing compliance.
• You enjoy analysing information, spotting inconsistencies and turning complex questions into clear, practical answers.
• You take initiative, communicate openly and like working with people who bring different perspectives.
• You work carefully, organise your priorities and ask for feedback to keep improving.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French, have a good understanding of the other national language and communicate confidently in English.
• Previous exposure to compliance or financial services is welcome, but your motivation and learning mindset matter most.
