Sander is seeking a Finance Controller for a large international professional services organisation in Belgium. You will join a central Finance department handling accounting, controlling, and financial reporting, including closings and consolidated reporting.

You will work on BE GAAP and IFRS reporting, balance sheet analyses, tax declarations and internal controls, with a strong emphasis on process improvement in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, financial controlling, reporting or audit.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Professional fluency in Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Support monthly and year-end closings and ensure accurate reporting.
• Analyse P&L and balance sheet movements, investigate variances and insights.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure ledger consistency.
• Prepare statutory and consolidated financial reporting under BE GAAP and IFRS.
• Coordinate with auditors and internal controls to improve processes.
• Assist tax declarations and regulatory reporting.

Finance Controller | Your duties and responsibilities

As a Finance Controller, your responsibilities will include:

• Support the monthly and year-end closing processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Analyse P&L and balance sheet movements, investigate variances and provide relevant financial insights.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure consistency between different accounting ledgers.
• Prepare and support statutory and consolidated financial reporting under BE GAAP and IFRS.
• Work closely with accounting teams, central finance and controllers across different business units.
• Analyse new or complex transactions and contribute to determining the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Participate in the preparation of tax declarations and regulatory reporting.
• Support the preparation of management financial statements and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Document, review and improve internal controls and finance processes.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and act as a key Finance contact during audits.
• Identify opportunities to optimise reporting, controls and ways of working.

Finance Controller | Ideal profile

• Experience: Previous experience in accounting, financial controlling, reporting or audit, with solid knowledge of BE GAAP and a good understanding of consolidation; IFRS exposure is an asset.
• Languages: Professional fluency in Dutch and English.
• Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; strong Excel and analytical skills are required, while SAP experience is an advantage.
