Pauwels Consulting seeks an experienced data governance expert to lead the evolution of data governance and quality frameworks. You will design models, ensure compliance, and embed data roles across business and IT teams to foster a data-driven culture.

The role requires 8+ years in large organizations, strong knowledge of data protection, lineage, and metadata management, and a track record in program management for data governance initiatives. Fluency in Dutch or French and English is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in large-scale organizations (>1,000 employees) focusing on Data Governance and Data Quality.
• Experience in Data Protection, Regulatory Compliance, Data Lineage, and Metadata Management.
• Experience in Project or Program Management for data governance initiatives.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant data management field.
• Ability to perform complex analytical activities and simplify technical topics for non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills to integrate Business, IT, Legal, and Risk teams.
• Fluent in Dutch or French (C1) with B2 in the other language and English.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement the data governance framework including target operating models, business glossaries, and data catalogues.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align governance processes with strategic organizational objectives.
• Support change management by coaching and training stakeholders in roles such as Data Owners and Data Stewards.
• Monitor governance processes and analyze non-compliance to implement corrective actions.
• Oversee documentation of business terms, data classification, and definition of data quality rules.
• Track and report on data quality, privacy compliance, and governance performance indicators.
• Lead and participate in internal and external data governance communities to share best practices.

The role focuses on designing governance models, ensuring compliance, and embedding data roles across business and IT teams to foster a data-driven culture.

• Design and implement the data governance framework including target operating models, business glossaries, and data catalogues.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align governance processes with strategic organizational objectives.

• You possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act as an integrator between Business, IT, Legal, and Risk teams.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French (C1 level) with B2 level in the other language and English.

Nice to Haves

• Proficiency in Python or SQL.
• Experience with industry-leading data management and data governance tools.
• Hold a certification such as DMBOK, CIGO, or AAIM.

• Duration: 2 years (until 31/12/2028)
