Job summary

Darwin Recruitment is seeking a skilled automotive technician to be the first locally based specialist in our Zeebrugge area office. You will diagnose and repair electric vehicles before they are released and shipped, establishing on-site capability formerly handled abroad.

You will work independently, diagnose faults, perform repairs, and use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot EV systems, high‑voltage components, and charging circuits.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in automotive maintenance, diagnostics or repair.
• Experience with electric or hybrid vehicles is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding in automotive electrical/electronic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and physically repair faults.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and software.
• Knowledge of EV electrical systems, HV technology and charging.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing, OEM or dealership is advantageous.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical problems.
• English-speaking – Dutch is not required.
• Dutch-speaking candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical, electronic and technical faults on electric vehicles.
• Carry out hands-on repairs following diagnosis.
• Troubleshoot vehicle breakdowns and identify root causes.
• Work with EV electrical systems, high-voltage components and related vehicle technology.
• Diagnose issues relating to EV charging systems.
• Carry out software updates and technical interventions using diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect and test vehicles before they are released for shipment to customers.
• Support end-of-line vehicle quality and technical inspections.
• Resolve technical vehicle issues onsite and act as a key contact for complex faults.
• Work closely with international technical specialists when additional support is required.
• Support wider technical and vehicle-quality activities across the operation.
