Prothya Biosolutions in Belgium is seeking a Calibration Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team. You will serve as the technical expert for calibration and periodic validation activities across critical manufacturing and utility systems.

The role requires a Master's in Industrial Engineering (Electromechanics) or equivalent, 1–3 years in a regulated pharma or life sciences setting, and strong GMP knowledge.

• Drive improvement projects to increase equipment performance and efficiency.
• Act as SME for calibration during audits and investigations.
• Support calibration technicians and backup for Calibration Coordinator.

At Prothya, we are committed to delivering life-saving plasma-derived therapies that improve patients' lives worldwide. To support our growing operations, we are looking for a Calibration Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance team.

As the technical expert for calibration and periodic validation activities, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of our critical manufacturing and utility systems.

Your Impact

In this role, you will:

Lead and coordinate periodic validations of cleanrooms, cold rooms, temperature-controlled facilities, and other GMP-regulated environments.

Ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement and instrumentation systems (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.).

Drive technical improvement projects aimed at increasing equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for calibration activities during audits, inspections, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage calibration quality systems, including:

• Calibration Master List (CML)
• Deviations and CAPAs
• SOPs and work instructions
• Preventive maintenance strategies

Coordinate calibration activities during shutdown periods and support critical maintenance projects.

Provide technical guidance and support to calibration technicians and act as backup for the Calibration Coordinator.

What You’ll Bring

Education

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering (Electromechanics) or equivalent.

Experience

• 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or other highly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of calibration and/or validation activities is a strong advantage.

Skills

• Understanding of GMP regulations and quality systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Strong team spirit and willingness to continuously learn and grow.
• Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good command of English.
