Job summary

N-SIDE Belgium seeks a Software Engineer - Energy in Louvain-la-Neuve to join the Energy department and help build a grid optimization platform. You will work on inception, development, and validation of new optimization tools for system operators, focusing on scalable backend capabilities and AI-native approaches.

You will collaborate with product owners and the GEO task force, lead backend development, and participate in CI/CD, containerization, and integration with existing solutions.

Qualifications

• Master in Computer Science or related field, or Bachelor with 3+ years' experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid knowledge of Spring Web MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security.
• Fluent in English and good communication skills.
• Interest in software design and evolution within a team.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adopt new tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development and rapid prototyping in a Spring Boot stack.
• Design software solutions to meet business needs with product owners and tech leads.
• Contribute to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm).
• Provide code reviews, mentor juniors, and promote best practices across the team.
