Employment Tax Incentives Expert
Contribute to creating a better tomorrow

The only way we can tackle the challenges of a fast-changing world is with passionate people. Guided by our purpose of building trust and solving important problems, we bring together diverse perspectives, expertise and ideas to create meaningful impact for our clients, our people and society.

At PwC, you will join a collaborative, inclusive and growth-oriented environment where curiosity is encouraged, learning never stops and every contribution matters.

To strengthen our Reward & Employment Tax team, we are currently looking for an Employment Tax Incentives Expert with solid experience in employment tax and a strong interest in payroll tax incentives.

If you are looking for a challenging and high-impact role where you can combine technical expertise, client advisory, project management and business development, this opportunity is for you.

Discover a rewarding career within our Reward & Employment Tax practice

Our multidisciplinary Reward & Employment Tax teams help organisations navigate an increasingly complex employment tax landscape. We support both large multinational and local clients in managing employment tax obligations, tax incentive regimes and workforce-related tax challenges while ensuring compliance, efficiency and sustainable growth.

As an Employment Tax Incentives Expert, you will advise clients on complex employment tax matters, with a strong focus on wage withholding tax, withholding tax exemption regimes, Research & Development incentives, social security reductions, tax rulings, tax claims and other employment-related tax incentives.

You will work closely with clients, PwC tax specialists, legal professionals and other stakeholders to develop practical, innovative and commercially relevant solutions. At the same time, you will contribute to the continued growth and development of our practice through client relationships, business development initiatives and talent development.

What your day will look like

As an Employment Tax Incentives Expert, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of client engagements and act as a trusted advisor on employment tax incentives and related matters.

You will:

  • Manage a variety of client assignments, projects and ad hoc queries, often providing expertise within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Advise clients on wage withholding tax matters and withholding tax exemption regimes, including incentives related to Research & Development activities, night and shift work and other available tax incentive measures.
  • Support organisations in identifying, implementing and optimising applicable tax incentive opportunities, while ensuring compliance with Belgian tax legislation.
  • Defend our clients’ interests during fiscal and social audits and information requests. This includes reviewing documentation, identifying risks and strategic options, preparing the defence, liaising and negotiating with the relevant authorities, and providing expert guidance throughout the process.
  • Where required, propose remediation actions and assist clients with their implementation.
  • Manage client engagements from A to Z, ensuring high-quality delivery, technical excellence and an exceptional client experience in line with PwC’s quality standards and client service mindset.
  • Lead complex client projects and coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.
  • Review technical analyses, calculations and tax assessments, ensuring consistency, accuracy and quality. Where required, you will use in-depth data analysis and Excel to support client advice and positions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and collaborate closely with the broader PwC network, tax teams, legal professionals and other specialists to deliver integrated and multidisciplinary solutions.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including identifying market opportunities, preparing proposals, developing new service offerings and contributing to seminars, publications, client events and other market initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Coach, mentor and support junior colleagues, sharing your expertise and contributing to an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team environment.
What we are looking for

We are looking for an ambitious, client-oriented and commercially minded professional who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive and collaborative mindset.

You bring
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in employment taxation, tax incentives, reward consulting or a related tax or legal advisory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wage withholding tax, withholding tax exemption regimes, Research & Development incentives and other employment-related tax incentives.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Belgian employment tax legislation and related incentive frameworks.
  • A strong interest in solving complex employment tax questions and developing practical solutions for clients.
  • Experience in managing client engagements or projects independently, from initiation through implementation and delivery.
  • Experience with the preparation and management of tax audits, information requests and interactions with tax authorities is a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, combined with attention to detail.
  • Very good Excel skills and confidence working with complex datasets, calculations and financial analyses.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to identify issues, take initiative and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • A client-oriented mindset and the ability to maintain focus and productivity in challenging or high-stakes situations, such as tax audits.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • A collaborative approach and an interest in coaching and developing more junior colleagues.
  • A commercial mindset and an interest in identifying opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
  • An open, creative, enthusiastic and flexible mindset.
  • Fluency in English and either Dutch or French. A good working knowledge of the other national language is considered an asset.

At PwC, you can expect a challenging and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise, take ownership of meaningful client engagements and contribute to the further development of our Reward & Employment Tax practice.

You will work in a multidisciplinary environment where you can develop your technical expertise, client advisory skills, project management capabilities and commercial mindset, while collaborating with colleagues across different areas of expertise.
