Job summary

EY Law in Belgium is seeking an Employment Lawyer to support the Employment Law Practice with high-quality services across individual and collective labour relations, HR transformations, and cross-border matters.

You will collaborate with the Head of the practice and counsel, engage national and international clients, and help drive business development while benefiting from EY’s international network and a flexible hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from a Belgian university with at least 3 years in employment and social security law.
• Excellent Dutch and/or French and English (written and oral).
• Team-oriented, dedicated and hands-on.
• Autonomous and proactive in an international environment.
• Dynamic, client-focused and organized, with drive for quality.
• Interest in supporting business development for Employment Law.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal services in employment and social security law for individual employment law and collective labour relations.
• Advise on HR transformation and restructuring projects, social inspections, wellbeing at work, litigation and dispute resolution.
• Engage directly with national and international clients on employment and social security issues.
• Collaborate with Corporate Law, M&A, Tax, and Transaction Advisory to deliver integrated solutions.
• Work on diverse projects from large-scale restructurings to individual dismissal cases, and represent clients before courts.
• Support due diligence in corporate transactions reviewing employment and social security law aspects.
• Contribute to business development and help raise the visibility of the Employment Law team within EY Law and across EY network.

What your future may hold

As an Employment Lawyer within EY Law’s Employment Law Practice:

• You will provide high-quality legal services in all aspects of employment and social security law, covering both individual employment law and collective labor relations.
• You will advise on HR transformation and restructuring projects, social inspections, wellbeing at work, litigation, and dispute resolution.
• You will engage directly with national and international clients on employment and social security issues.
• You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Corporate Law, M&A, Tax, and Transaction Advisory to deliver integrated legal solutions.
• You will work on diverse projects, from large-scale restructurings to individual dismissal cases, and represent clients before courts and tribunals.
• You will support due diligence exercises in corporate transactions, particularly reviewing employment and social security law aspects.
• You will contribute to business development and help raise the visibility of the Employment Law team within EY Law and across the EY network.

Your skillset

• You hold a Master’s Degree form a Belgian University with minimum three years of relevant experience in employment and social security law, ideally in an international environment. An additional Belgian law degree (i.e., a specialization in employment law) or an additional foreign law degree is a plus.
• You have excellent knowledge of Dutch and/or French and English (written and oral).
• You are team-oriented, dedicated and hands-on.
• You are eager to work autonomously in a proactive and stimulating international environment.
• You are a dynamic, client-focused and organized lawyer, with a strong drive for quality and the ability to work in a fast-moving and result-oriented environment.
• You are interested in supporting business development activities to further develop the Employment Law practice.
