Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with a strong background in low-level development to join the security technology team near Roeselare, Belgium. You will develop embedded software in C/C++ and contribute to the integration of software with hardware systems.

In this role, you will work on Embedded Linux environments, perform board bring-up, and develop device drivers while debugging across software, OS, and hardware interfaces.

• Embedded Software Development: Design, develop and maintain embedded software using C/C++, with a focus on reliable, efficient and maintainable code.
• Embedded Linux: Develop and integrate software within Embedded Linux environments, contributing to system functionality and performance.
• Board Bring-Up: Support the initialisation and validation of new hardware platforms, helping ensure that hardware components operate correctly with the underlying software.
• Device Driver Development: Develop, integrate and debug device drivers to enable communication between the operating system and hardware peripherals.
• Low-Level Debugging: Investigate and resolve issues across software, operating systems and hardware interfaces, using a structured approach to root-cause analysis.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside engineers from different disciplines to support the development, integration and continuous improvement of security technology solutions.

The Role:

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with a strong background in low-level software development to join the engineering team near Roeselare.

In this role, you will work close to the hardware, developing embedded software and contributing to the integration of software components with electronic systems. You will be involved in different stages of the development process, from initial board bring-up and driver development through to debugging, testing and system integration.
