Job summary

Darwin Recruitment in Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium seeks an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to uphold GMP standards in pharmaceutical production. You will maintain filling and packaging lines, read electrical diagrams, and ensure reliable, compliant operation.

The role requires an Electromechanics qualification (bachelor's ideal) and 3+ years pharma experience, or 5+ years in other manufacturing. Fluent French and intermediate English are required.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electromechanics, ideally a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in pharma, food, cosmetics, fine chemicals or biopharma production; or 5+ years in another industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis in a production setting.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical drawings in English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on pharmaceutical production and packaging equipment.

• Perform machine settings and format changeovers on filling and packaging lines.

Project focus

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on pharmaceutical production and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and pneumatic faults, identifying root causes and implementing lasting corrective solutions.
• Perform machine settings and format changeovers on filling and packaging lines.
• Check and adjust machine parameters within validated settings, ensuring reliable and compliant production.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance interventions, ensuring traceability and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and internal procedures.
• Apply 5S principles and collaborate closely with production operators, supervisors, quality assurance and the maintenance team.
• Support the site's expansion and the integration of new production and packaging equipment, with opportunities for ongoing technical training and development.

Key skills and Experience required

• Qualification in Electromechanics, ideally at bachelor's degree level, or equivalent practical experience demonstrating strong technical ability and autonomy.
• At least 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, fine chemicals or biopharmaceutical production; alternatively, at least 5 years in another industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automation systems.
• Proven experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis and troubleshooting within a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, technical drawings and manufacturer documentation in English.
• Experience with filling and packaging lines, machine format changeovers, automated visual inspection or PLC diagnostics is highly valued.
• Familiarity with GMP documentation, 5S practices and root cause analysis, with a strong focus on hygiene, safety, quality and traceability.
• Ability to work independently, manage maintenance priorities and communicate effectively with production and maintenance supervisors.
• Fluent French is essential, with intermediate English required to understand technical manuals and communicate with equipment suppliers.
• Willingness to work a regular day schedule, with occasional Saturday availability and rare shift work when production requires it.
