Fluxys is an international energy infrastructure group with 1,300 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling.

The Grid department manages the transmission network of Fluxys Belgium. The department’s objectives are to ensure the supply of natural gas to end users and to guarantee the safety of installations, the environment, and employees. This includes the inspection, operation, and maintenance of the pipeline network and related installations, such as valve nodes and pressure reduction stations.

From an organizational perspective, the Grid department is geographically divided into five zones, supported by a central entity that provides both technical and administrative assistance.

For our operations site in Merksem, we are looking for an Electromechanical Technician (m/f/x).

Job purpose

As an Electromechanical Technician, you contribute to the safe and reliable operation of Fluxys Belgium’s natural gas transmission network. You help ensure the maintenance and optimal functioning of the pressure reduction stations within the Merksem zone, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuity of gas supply. You play a key role in safeguarding the energy supply and thus support the transition to a carbon-neutral future

Your responsibilities

• After an intensive training period during which you gain knowledge of the entire network and all installations within the zone, you will join the local team responsible for the daily inspection and maintenance of the pressure reduction stations
• You carry out maintenance and repair work on the installations of our pressure reduction stations and prepare the required reports
• You are responsible for recording the operational data of the various installations
• You ensure the safety of our installations and our employees

About you

• An A2 diploma (secondary technical education), a graduate or bachelor degree in electromechanics or electronics, or equivalent
• Initial experience in the maintenance of technical installations is an advantage
• A dynamic and eager-to-learn mindset
• Autonomy, discipline, and technical insight
• Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
• Fluent in Dutch, with a basic knowledge of French and English

In addition, this position requires:

• Willingness to participate in an on-call/standby rotation
• Residence within a 30-minute radius of our site in Merksem
• A category B and C driving licence; if you do not yet hold a category C licence, Fluxys will provide the necessary training
