ENGIE Laborelec seeks an Electrical Expert to advance expertise in primary equipment for MV/HV substations. You will perform analyses, contribute to design reviews, and conduct lab testing with on‑site witnessing.

You will join a team of experts, working with renewable, nuclear, and international projects, growing into a key reference under mentorship. Belgium location with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Junior profile: trainee or up to 3 years of experience.
• Strong interest in MV & HV electrical equipment and substations.
• Affinity with hands‑on, equipment‑oriented engineering (lab + expertise).
• Working proficiency in Dutch and English; French is an asset.
• Curious, motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn from senior experts.

Responsabilités

• Develop expertise in primary equipment of MV & HV substations (circuit breakers, disconnectors, terminations, surge arresters, cables).
• Perform root cause analyses (RCA) and failure investigations on switchgear for DSOs and the nuclear business line.
• Contribute to design reviews for BESS projects, solar parks, and HV transmission lines.
• Carry out laboratory testing, inspections, and technical assessments, with occasional on‑site witnessing.
• Review technical documentation and provide independent expert opinions.
• Collaborate closely with cable and transformer experts, as well as renewable, nuclear, and international business lines.
• Grow into a key reference within the team, supported by experienced mentors.
