ALTEN Belgium seeks an E&M/BOM Configuration Manager to own engineering and manufacturing BOMs for the Herstal projects. You will verify, officialise in the PLM system (Windchill) and ensure correct ERP communication, while coordinating changes across functions.

You’ll manage BOM baselines, run impact analyses, and supervise ECR/ECN loops, with French and English language proficiency required and Dutch a plus.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor in mechanical, industrial or electromechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a configuration-management role in a product development environment.
• Experience owning bills of material: creation, checking completeness, officialising and maintenance through changes.
• Comfort with a PLM system as a daily tool—Windchill preferred; other PLM systems acceptable (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, SAP PLM, Aras).
• Ability to run a change loop (ECR/ECN) across departments and close it.

Responsabilités

• Verify engineering and manufacturing BOM content: structure, articles, sub-assemblies and attached docs (drawings, work instructions, inspections).
• Officialise the BOM in Windchill after approvals and ensure ERP data flow is correct.
• Run impact analysis of product and process changes with logistics, quality, methods, purchasing, and project teams.
• Follow up on engineering change requests and tasks through to completion within agreed timeframes.
• Coordinate change implementation with logistics, production and purchasing: activation date, obsolescence, stock scrapping, retrofit.
• Register baselines during development and validation, manage BOM variants driven by customer requirements.

E&M/BOM Configuration Manager - ALTEN Belgium

The Position

As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a E&M/BOM Configuration Manager to join our teams and work on client projects located in Herstal. You take ownership of the engineering and manufacturing bills of material of the laser-guided rocket product line : you verify them, officialise them in the PLM system (PTC Windchill) and make sure the data reaches the ERP correctly.

As a E&M/BOM Configuration Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

• Verify the content of the engineering and manufacturing BOM: structure, BOM articles, sub assembly levels and the documentation attached to them (drawings, production instructions, process inspections, production tooling)
• Officialise the BOM in PTC Windchill once every document has been approved by the services concerned, and check that the data is correctly communicated to the ERP
• Run the impact analysis of product and process changes with logistics, quality, methods, purchasing and the project teams
• Follow up engineering change requests and their change tasks through to completion, inside the agreed time frame
• Fine-tune change implementation with logistics, production and purchasing: activation date, obsolescence, stock scrapping, retrofit
• Register the product baselines during development and validation, linked to the client’s development process and to project milestones, and manage BOM variants driven by customer specific requirements

Your profile

• Master or Bachelor in mechanical, industrial or electromechanical engineering, or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience in a configuration-management role, in a product development environment
• You have owned bills of material: creating them, checking their completeness, officialising them and keeping them alive through changes
• You are comfortable with a PLM system as a daily tool — PTC Windchill ideally, Teamcenter,
• ENOVIA, SAP PLM or Aras are equally valid
• You know how to run a change loop (ECR / ECN) across several departments and bring it to a close
• French professional and English professional — Dutch is a plus
