Dow Jones Newswires seeks a Dutch Financial Translator to join a linguist team and ensure precision while monitoring auto-translation quality. Location flexible (London/Brussels/Netherlands) with a 3-day hybrid schedule; fixed-term with potential permanent transition.

You will improve English-to-Dutch translations of financial news, build glossaries, and apply prompt engineering to enhance consistency and accuracy in outputs.

Qualifications

• Native-level mastery of Dutch (C2) and awareness of European business etiquette.
• Proven expertise in LQA and MTPE with a track record of improving automated outputs.
• Technical proficiency with CAT tools and managing complex terminology databases.
• Specialist command of financial terminology for English-to-Dutch translation.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI and LLMs and prompt engineering influence on models.
• Background in professional newsrooms or high-pressure editorial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D and QA initiatives for the English-to-Dutch MT engine, vetting data strategy results and performing daily output audits.
• Define and implement correction policies to ensure Dutch products meet Dow Jones editorial standards.
• Architect and maintain glossaries anchoring AI in accurate financial terminology.
• Engineer and iterate on prompts to evolve style, tone, and technical accuracy of automated feeds.
• Partner with Product, Editorial, and Data Strategy teams to drive workflow efficiencies.
• Map third-party content to expand our Dutch-language market offering.
• Modernize content generation by translating and refining automated templates for real-time updates.
