Job summary

HumanInTech in East Flanders is seeking a data modelling expert to support the maintenance and optimisation of a water quality modelling chain. The work covers nutrient emissions, ecological quality, and hydromorphological models, with Python and R scripts used for pre- and post-processing.

You will screen and optimise model code, analyse data flows, and design an efficient data model, while joining weekly calls with the modelling team to track progress.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in data modelling and data flow analysis.
• Proven ability to design scalable data models.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and R.
• Experience optimising databases (PostgreSQL, SQL/Oracle) is a plus.
• Dutch language fluency (CEFR C2) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Screen and optimise model code, profiling and speeding up computation.
• Analyse data flows and design an optimised data model.
• Join weekly calls with the modelling team to plan upcoming tasks.
