Data Governance Lead for Transformation

Job summary

LACO in Brussels is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to drive a major data transformation. You will strengthen governance, improve data quality, manage metadata and glossaries, and support a network of Data Stewards.

Collaborating with business, BI and data teams, you will help build a more data-driven organization, foster trust in data, and contribute to governance policies and literacy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality or BI.
• Hands-on experience with Data Catalogs, Metadata Management and Business Glossaries.
• Knowledge of Data Governance tools.
• Experience with Data Quality Management and MDM.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Knowledge of GDPR principles.
• Databricks experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Dutch or French speaker with good knowledge of the second national language and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Data Steward community.
• Define and implement Data Governance processes and best practices.
• Manage and improve the enterprise Data Catalog and Business Glossary.
• Coordinate Data Quality initiatives and improvement actions.
• Contribute to governance policies, standards and guidelines.
• Support Data Literacy and Change Management initiatives.
• Collaborate with business, BI, AI and Data teams to increase trust in data.
