Job summary

Expleo is hiring a Data Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team. You will design and optimize data pipelines and architectures to support analytics and ML workflows, using Python, SQL, Spark, and Docker.

You will maintain data lakes/warehouses and contribute to scalable data solutions across projects. You’ll collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and engineers, improving CI/CD, testing, and data engineering standards while embracing open-source and on-premises

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent.
• Solid experience in data engineering and proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and Docker for data processing and automation.
• Familiarity with data tools like Jenkins, Jupyter, Superset, Dagster; Kubeflow is a plus.
• Understanding of databases, data lakes/warehouses, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, validate, and test data pipelines and architectures for engineering and analytics.
• Define efficient data structures to ensure scalability and performance across platforms.
• Set up and optimize databases, data lakes, and storage for structured/unstructured data.
• Develop pipelines for ML algorithms and advanced data processing workflows.
• Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for testing, deployment, and code quality.
• Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and engineers to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary development team within the Engineering Department.

• Designing, developing, deploying, validating, and testing data pipelines and data architectures to support engineering and analytics needs.
• Defining and implementing efficient data architecture and data structures to ensure consistency, scalability, and performance across platforms.
• Setting up, maintaining, and optimizing databases, data lakes, and related storage solutions for structured and unstructured data.
• Developing data pipelines to support the execution of machine learning algorithms and other advanced data processing workflows.
• Managing and improving CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes, code quality and development efficiency.
• Collaborating closely with software developers, data scientists, and engineers to ensure data systems meet project and business requirements.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of development practices, testing strategies, and data engineering standards.

Qualifications

• You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or an equivalent field, ideally with a specialization in Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• You have solid experience in data engineering and are proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and Docker, particularly for data processing, AI applications, and automation.
• You are familiar with data engineering and development tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Jupyter, Superset, and Dagster. Experience with data warehousing and Kubeflow is considered a plus.
• You have a good understanding of databases, data lakes, data warehouses, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing practices.
• Knowledge of MATLAB unit testing is a plus.
• You have a strong interest in opensource and on-premises solutions and stay informed about the latest trends and innovations in the field.
• You are comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team and can communicate clearly, effectively, and concisely with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• You demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence, quality, and reliability.
• Additional knowledge in software engineering, frontend development, data analytics, C/C++, Git, DevOps, and Bitbucket would be an advantage.
