Job summary

ING Belgium is seeking a Portfolio Manager Credit Risk to play a key role in the credit risk management framework. You will analyze Private Individuals portfolios, derive insights from data, and support proactive credit management across the organization.

You will join a skilled team with expertise in credit portfolios, economics, data analysis, and reporting. The role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment and opportunities to influence strategy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics, applied economics, statistics, or a related field.
• Strong data analysis skills and presentation capability.
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel; experience with PowerBI and Python for data visualization is a plus.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to work independently and in a team within a dynamic environment.
• High attention to detail and a drive to understand issues before concluding.
• Resilience and a constructive attitude; readiness to deliver.
• Experience with Vortex data is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyse & Assess Credit Portfolios
• Build on portfolio performance and risks to steer lending exposures
• Highlight economic and business developments leading to credit risk evolution and enable proactive steering
• Provide insights from early warning indicators to guide discussions on vulnerabilities
• Develop clear risk appetite and monitor developments against it for senior management
• Develop forward-looking perspectives to steer business within risk appetite
• Monitor production quality to inform credit acceptance models and policies
• Review production volumes, risk profiles, and underwriting data
• Deliver an integrated credit risk overview combining performance data, macro trends, sector forecasts and KPIs
• Communicate insights, conclusions, and recommendations to stakeholders
• Support data management and analytical tooling to enhance decision making
• Lead or participate in project management activities to deliver objectives
• Collaborate with risk, front-office, and policy teams to support change initiatives
• Drive data reporting enhancements and automation
