Job summary

Avertim is seeking a Data Architect to design coherent, scalable data environments and guide architecture across data platforms, governance and analytics initiatives. You will connect business needs to data solutions, support modernization and enable secure data flows across multiple environments.

Responsibilities include defining architectures, models, roadmaps and governance, while collaborating with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, cost-efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data or related field.
• Proven experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering or Solution Architecture.
• Knowledge of data modelling, integration patterns and modern data platforms.
• Fluent English; Dutch and/or French are assets.

Avertim is a management consulting group that translates strategy into actionable projects across three service lines: Within our Energy & Transport practice, our consultants work directly with leading organisations on complex business, digital, data and operational transformation projects. You will join Avertim as a consultant and contribute to client projects where your expertise and ability to deliver concrete results make a real difference.

Your role

You will help Energy & Transport clients design coherent, scalable and secure data environments that support operational and strategic ambitions. You will connect business needs, data domains, applications and technology choices and provide direction for data platforms and integration. As a Data Architect, you will contribute to enterprise architecture, cloud and platform modernisation, data governance and advanced analytics programmes.

Your responsibilities

• Understand business objectives, data needs, existing systems and architectural constraints.
• Define target data architectures, principles, standards and transition roadmaps.
• Design conceptual and logical data models and guide physical implementation choices.
• Shape architectures for data platforms, integration, storage, processing and consumption.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise, application, cloud, security and infrastructure architectures.
• Define or strengthen approaches to data governance, quality, metadata, lineage and ownership.
• Evaluate solution options and advise stakeholders on scalability, interoperability, performance and cost.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, application teams, architects and business representatives.
• Review solution designs and provide architectural guidance throughout implementation.
• Document decisions, patterns, risks, dependencies and recommendations for technical and management audiences.

Your profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data or a related field.
• You have proven experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Solution Architecture or a comparable role.
• You understand data modelling, integration patterns and modern data platform concepts.
• You can connect IT technical architecture choices with business outcomes and governance needs.
• You communicate complex topics clearly and can influence diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience with cloud data environments, analytics platforms or data governance is an asset.
• Knowledge of Energy, Utilities, Transport, Mobility or asset-intensive environments is an asset.
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or French and have a professional level of English.
