Corrosion Testing Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a laboratory technician to perform benchtop corrosion tests and support customers with materials-related problems. The role will involve preparing specimens, setting up tests, maintaining equipment, and recording observations.

Ideal candidates have a science degree with lab experience and strong verbal/written communication skills; experience with microscopes or electrochemical instrumentation is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Materials Science, Corrosion Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry or an AS with 2 years experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Experience using microscopes or electrochemical instrumentation a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This position is a great opportunity for the right individual to work in a laboratory setting conducting benchtop corrosion tests. This individual will learn to apply various test methods to assist our customers solve material related problems including materials selection, satisfying regulatory requirements, and failure analysis. These test methods vary from standardized tests to more complicated customized testing.

Responsibilities

Set-up and conduct various corrosion tests.

Maintain test equipment.

Record observations and test results.

Qualifications

BS in Materials Science, Corrosion Science, Metallurgy, Chemistry or an Associates degree in an Applied Science with 2 years experience in a laboratory setting.
