Core Quality Control Labs seeks a Research Laboratory Technician to support routine microbiology, quality-control, and research tasks under supervision. The role emphasizes aseptic technique, documentation, and learning USP procedures such as stability and sterility testing.

The ideal candidate has basic lab experience, is dependable, trainable, and willing to work in a regulated environment with cGMP and GLP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or MS) in microbiology, biology, pharmacology, or a related field.
  • Associate degree may be considered with relevant lab experience.
  • Entry-level candidates with academic lab or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in regulated labs is preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

  • Assist with routine microbiological and research testing according to SOPs and supervisor instructions.
  • Support stability and sterility testing, AET, bioburden, and other USP procedures after training.
  • Prepare culture media, reagents, buffers, and lab materials.
  • Record observations and results in controlled worksheets or electronic systems.
  • Follow cGMP, GLP, GDP, and data-integrity requirements.
  • Maintain clean and test-ready lab areas.
  • Report deviations or equipment problems promptly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet testing schedules.

About The Role

The Research Laboratory Technician will support routine microbiology or pharmaceutical, research, and quality-control activities under the guidance of senior laboratory personnel. The ideal candidate will have basic laboratory experience, good aseptic technique, accurate documentation skills, and a strong willingness to learn USP procedures such as stability testing, sterility testing, and AET. This position is appropriate for a dependable, adaptable, and highly trainable candidate interested in developing experience in a regulated laboratory environment.

  • Assist with routine microbiological and research testing according to approved SOPs, protocols, and supervisor instructions
  • Support stability testing, sterility testing, AET, microbial enumeration, bioburden testing, growth-promotion testing, environmental monitoring, sample preparation, and other USP procedures after training
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, storing, tracking, preparing, and testing stability samples
  • Prepare culture media, reagents, buffers, laboratory materials, and equipment for testing
  • Perform routine equipment checks and maintain clean, organized, and test-ready laboratory work areas
  • Record observations and results accurately in controlled worksheets, laboratory notebooks, or electronic systems
  • Follow cGMP, GLP, GDP, data-integrity requirements, laboratory safety rules, and approved SOPs
  • Promptly report unexpected observations, contamination concerns, deviations, equipment problems, or atypical results
  • Complete assigned training, demonstrate competency, and learn new laboratory methods and instrumentation
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory colleagues to meet testing schedules and project deadlines

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or MS in microbiology, biology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related field is preferred
  • An associate degree in a relevant laboratory science may be considered with appropriate laboratory experience
  • Entry-level candidates with relevant academic laboratory, internship, or cooperative education experience are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical-device, contract-testing, food, cosmetic, or other regulated laboratory is preferred but not required
  • Basic experience with aseptic technique, microbial culture, pipetting, solution preparation, or laboratory documentation is preferred
  • Exposure to USP methods, sterility testing, AET, stability testing, or analytical chemistry is an advantage; job-specific training may be provided

  • Strong willingness to learn and ability to adapt to changing laboratory priorities
  • Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions carefully and consistently
  • Good attention to detail, organization, time management, and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to work independently after training and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and willingness to ask questions or elevate concerns
  • Commitment to laboratory safety, product quality, data integrity, and ethical conduct
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency; familiarity with LIMS or electronic laboratory systems is a plus
