Core Laboratories is a reservoir optimization company seeking a laboratory technician in Antwerp to perform basic to moderate tests and support client projects. You will set up, operate, and maintain lab equipment, document results, and ensure compliance with ASTM, UOP, IP standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related laboratory experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.

• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).

Overview

Core Laboratories is the Reservoir Optimization Company™. This position performs basic to moderate difficulty laboratory tests to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by our clients.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment as trained, ensuring correct operation in accordance with applicable standards and laboratory practice.
• Perform analytical tests of basic to moderate difficulty following well‑defined standards and procedures.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments in accordance with applicable standards and laboratory practice.
• Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in laboratory and safety manuals and company policies.
• Attend and pass required training and examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas analysis, including Right‑to‑Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training.
• Complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into laboratory computer programs.
• Resolve routine issues without supervision.
• Attend regular safety meetings.
• Work non‑traditional hours/days schedule, including overtime as required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of related laboratory experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).

• Working knowledge of basic to moderate difficulty methods and safety standards, including ASTM, UOP, IP, and other well‑defined analytical standards.
• Ability to write basic routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak professionally with customers or employees of the organization.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversion of units of measure.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables.
• Ability to draw and interpret applicable graphs and control charts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Capability to work a non‑traditional work hours/days schedule, including overtime.
