Role: Coordinator, Operations and Projects-Ethics & Independence
Role Summary

Embedded within the Risk & Compliance Central Operations team and supporting the Global Ethics & Independence (E&I) programme, the Coordinator supports delivery of the Global E&I management programme by a diverse team of Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) working remotely in multiple global locations.

This role is at the centre of the day-to-day operations, coordinating projects, communications, content and events, and ensuring smooth delivery across multiple stakeholders, workstreams and platforms.

The coordinator provides practical coordination and oversight to ensure that the team’s projects and initiatives progress efficiently from drafting through to committee and Board approval, to implementation and global communication. This includes structured planning, disciplined follow‑up, high‑quality documentation and clear reporting to support effective decision-making across multiple global stakeholders and global governance bodies.

The ideal candidate enjoys bringing structure to complex and unstructured work, has a proactive and solution-focused mindset, and is comfortable working behind the scenes to keep programmes running efficiently. The candidate must be a collaborative team player with a calm-flexible approach, able to work closely with highly skilled experts, adapt to new challenges and contribute positively within a small close‑knitted team.

Key Responsibilities
Project coordination
  • Coordinate projects supporting the operational implementation of international ethics and independence standards.
  • Develop and maintain end‑to‑end project plans, coordinating inputs, reviews, and comments from subject matter experts, member firms, and other stakeholders, whilst ensuring consultation deadlines are met.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of deliverables, from initial drafting through review, approval, publication, and communication.
  • Monitor progress against agreed plans, identifying risks, issues or delays and supporting timely resolution.
  • Provide weekly programme plans and status updates, including upcoming milestones, dependencies and key delivery risks.
  • Ensure effective coordination and prioritisation across multiple concurrent projects within the wider E&I programme.
Programme operations & continuous improvement
  • Support the effective day‑to‑day running of the global E&I programme.
  • Maintain programme trackers, registers, and planning tools.
  • Ensure consistent application of programme templates and internal governance processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline coordination, reduce duplication, and improve delivery efficiency.
Operational support & systems
  • Respond to non‑technical administrative queries from firms, including the issuance of training certificates, Learning Management System (LMS) enrolments and access requests.
  • Track and follow up on ServiceNow technical queries, escalating overdue items where necessary.
  • Coordinate diary scheduling for selected leadership meetings where required.
Meetings, events & programmes
  • Coordinate internal team knowledge sharing sessions, including logistics, materials and post‑event follow‑up (such as uploading recordings).
  • Coordinate the publication of quarterly virtual publications, including timeline planning, collection of content from SME’s, liaising with editing teams and facilitation of the review process to ensure timely publication.
  • Support conference delivery by liaising with marketing and other internal global teams and contributing as part of the conference coordination team where appropriate.
Content, communications & publications
  • Manage content updates to the global intranet, including making changes directly and reviewing or approving updates submitted by others.
  • Format news articles and other internal communications content for publication.
  • Create standard email templates to support consistent communications across the programme.
  • Format slides and presentation materials for meetings, training and events, taking primary responsibility for routine formatting and coordinating with Central Operations for additional support where appropriate.
Knowledge management & platforms
  • Maintain document libraries and indexes on global intranet and SharePoint, including rolling forward folders and keeping records current.
  • Maintain structured documentation repositories, version control, and audit‑ready records.
  • Set up and manage surveys using survey tools such as MS Form and Alchemer.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of Terms of Reference for stakeholder groups.
  • Curate content for the Weekly Digest by monitoring external sources (e.g. IESBA, IAASB and IFAC) and identifying relevant articles.
  • Coordinate the collection of internal contributions, such as quotes or commentary, for inclusion in the publication.
Required skills & experience (7+ years)
  • At least 7 years’ experience in programme coordination, project coordination, or PMO, ideally within a global accounting and/or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities and complex dependencies.
  • Strong meeting coordination, action tracking, and follow‑up discipline.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including drafting minutes, reports, policy support materials, and briefing packs.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Confidence working across multiple systems and platforms, such as LMS platforms, intranets, web tools and survey software.
  • Clear and professional communicator, able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive, reliable and comfortable managing multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Enjoys operational work and supporting programmes that span multiple teams and regions.
  • Strong operational capability and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Preferred
  • Experience working in Ethics & Independence, Risk, Compliance, Quality, or Professional Standards functions at an Accounting Firm.
